Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Software Engineer 3 or 4 to support a program located in Aurora, Colorado. Our growing Aurora, Colorado team is comprised of approximately 700 engineers, developers, technical and business professionals. It is part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems data systems operations. The facility is situated in Aurora, CO which is Colorado's third largest city with a population of more than 366,000 and home to Buckley AFB. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a highly qualified, motivated, and technically talented Software Engineer 3 or 4 to join our team of diverse and extremely qualified professionals who is pursuing the rewards of maintaining innovative and complex systems. This position is located in Aurora, CO offering opportunities for both individual activities and collaborative efforts in support of complex systems. Qualified candidates must be able to work independently in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The software team requires individuals with software engineering experience who can work in a structured configuration controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of real-time software applications on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract. Qualified candidates will be responsible for developing new software capabilities for operational users as well as evaluating operational software problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service. Responsibilities also include the integration and verification of new baselines Principle duties include: Serve as technical resource within the Software Department with some exposure to customer interface Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision to prioritize tasks Supporting, maintaining and documenting software applications Determining the operational feasibility of software modifications Providing the analysis/training staff with insight into software capabilities Developing software tools to complement maintenance activities Ability to perform with a high level of attention to detail and minimal supervision Strong interpersonal, team-building, and communications skills Working in Northrop Grumman Mission Systems means making a direct contribution to mission projects that keep our homeland safe, support our government and military customers and help Northrop Grumman become a dynamic technology leader. MSCOMSTRThis requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or level 4 Basic Qualifications: BQs for a Software Engineer 3 are: Bachelor's Degree within a STEM field (Science/Technical/Engineering/Math) from an accredited college with five (5) years of software engineering and development experience; three (3) years of experience with Master's Degree; zero (0) years of experience with PhD. Active TS/SCI access Adjudicated CI Polygraph (within 7 years) Proficiency with any of the following; Java, C++, C-shell, K-shell, Perl/Tk, Tcl/Tk, Python, or Matlab. Web development BQs for a Software Engineer 4 are: Bachelor's Degree within a STEM field (Science/Technical/Engineering/Math) from an accredited college with nine (9) years of software engineering and development experience; seven (7) years of experience with a Master's Degree; four (4) years of experience with a PhD. Active TS/SCI access Adjudicated CI Polygraph (within 7 years) Proficiency with any of the following; Java, C++, C-shell, K-shell, Perl/Tk, Tcl/Tk, Python, or Matlab.
