Software Development Initiative Team Lead (includes - 25% Profit Sharing) Req #: 219673 Location: Aurora, CO US Job Category: Engineering Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance Status: Must Be Current Job Description **Includes up to 25% profit sharing with our Enhanced IBA benefit's program** CACI is seeking a Team Lead for the FADE Software Development organization, to lead and manage the Initiative-focused development group. Do you have a vision and commitment to Mission-focused development, to help drive the continued success of the FADE program. The FADE program is literally changing the state of the art of geospatial / temporal visualization and analysis tools. Our software is in use around the world, with an ever-expanding user base. You will have the opportunity to lead a responsive development team where communication skills and the ability to solve problems are critical to our success. What You'll Get to Do: In this role, you will drive and communicate the vision of the initiative-focused development teams. These teams are composed as full-stack application development teams, including both server and client developers, test and deployment engineers, and Scrum masters. Initiative teams are responsible for implementing new capabilities, which include technically complex and ground-breaking features, and high-risk / high-reward capabilities. The vision is part of a comprehensive strategy involving many stakeholders throughout the FADE ecosystem, including operational users, customer representatives, funding sources, systems and software engineers, and test / deployment engineers. You will collaborate with Scrum Masters and stakeholders to execute the vision, implementing new functionality in many different parts of the FADE baseline. You are empowered to drive the vision, and institute processes and procedures to enhance the productivity and creativity of your teams, while delivering high-quality software products consistent with the reputation of the FADE development organization. In additional, your responsibilities as our Agile Product Owner, as well as a formal Manager within the CACI organization. You will manage a team of twelve to fifteen engineers, providing guidance and feedback to your team. The FADE team is composed of exceptionally bright and talented engineers, who form exceptionally productive, tight-knit and cohesive development teams. Successful candidates bring a balance of leadership, communications, and technical savvy to the organization, and are able to share in the organization's vision and drive. More About this Role: * Communicate with key external stakeholders, including end users, customer representatives, funding sources to derive development priorities * Proactively collaborate with Product Owners to ensure cohesive architectural direction * Communicate with internal stakeholders, balancing the need for new growth with an emphasis on continued quality and scheduled deliveries * Create and execute plans for quarterly development cycles * Collaborate closely with initiative Scrum masters to plan and execute two-week sprint development cycles * Maintain a strict focus on quality * Motivate your team for continued success, while keeping the stress level of the team to a minimum * Assist the Software Lead with hiring and recruiting * Brief customer representatives on development progress and priorities * Advocate for your team More About our Program: The FADE program has a long history of producing high-quality software solutions supporting operational mission needs. The team produces server and client components to enable analysis of extremely large volumes of geospatial / temporal data, allowing our users to glean information from an otherwise indecipherable sea of data. Our products, processes and procedures have literally changed the face of analysis within our customer community, and as a result, the team has experienced exceptional growth, nearly doubling in size in the last year. To support our continued focus on producing exceptionally high-quality software, the team needs to augment our leadership team with exceptional candidates. You'll Bring These Qualifications: * Education: Typically requires bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related major or equivalent. * Experience: Five to seven years of software development or related experience; plus two to four years of software development leadership experience. * Technical project experience supporting the successful development, integrating, testing and deployment of a system for one or more customers * Successful experience coordinating multidisciplinary and / or full-stack engineering teams (software engineering, test and integration, and production) of eight or more individuals. * Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and trade studies to support evaluation of technical trade-offs and decision making * Understanding of and ability work within an existing software release management process * Experience with Agile development and methodologies * Experience leading team planning using Scrum or Kanban * Must be self-motivated with good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills * These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: * Developing multi-tiered application software products * Developing and maintaining AWS applications and services * Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and OGC WMS / WFS standards * Continuous Integration and Automated Testing tools like Jenkins / Hudson, Selenium, JUnit, etc. * Build automation tools, including Maven, Nexus, and / or Archiva * Ticketing and Agile process management tools (e.g.: JIRA) * Experience with UI / UX design through Balsamiq or similar applications Desired Certifications: * One or more Product Owner Certifications, through a recognized certification authority (ScrumAlliance, Scrum.org, Mountain Goat Software) * One or more Scrum Master Certifications, through a recognized certification authority (ScrumAlliance, Scrum.org, Mountain Goat Software) Additional BITS Information: Not to mention BITS benefits are quite unique. Basically, BITS benefits equate to 50% of salary on TOP of your base salary. The first part is a tax-qualified profit sharing retirement plan to which BITS annually contributes up to 25% of your base salary (not more than applicable IRS limits) to your retirement account under the plan. The second part consists of BITS' Individual Benefit Account Plan (the IBA), which is used for premiums, medical reimbursements, dependent care, education and BITS' Paid Time Off (PTO) Policy. Both components of the BITS benefit package are paid for by BITS in addition to your base salary and potential performance bonuses.
